Linux runs natively on the Wii

"And last but not least, we have finally run natively Linux on the Nintendo Wii through Team Tweezers' twilight-hack (http://wiibrew.org/index.php?title=Twilight_Hack). We have released a small usbgecko-enabled Proof of Concept mini-distro to prove it." It still needs drivers for the fancy Wii hardware...but regardless, it's Wii Linux.

Phil Harrison resigns from SCE!

It pains me to report on what appears to be a Sony story here on this fortress of Nintendomania but this story has everything to do with Nintendo in a roundabout way. Phil Harrison, President of Sony Computer Entertainment (what the suits call the GayStation brand) has resigned. No doubt his bleeding ulcer--aggravated by the avalanche of Wii successes--is no longer manageable without daily care from Ken Kutaragi's soft man hands. Hopefully Phil can spend some time playing turds like Lair on his BS3. Time to throw PlayStation onto the pile of consoles destroyed by the Nintendo war machine! NOW YOU'RE PLAYING WITH POWER!

Puzzle Quest will have a sequel

I have to admit that this is the first I'm hearing about a Puzzle Quest sequel. But to be fair, it looks like D3 was hiding this title under the name "Galactrix." Only recently have they revealed the full title of the cart: "Puzzle Quest: Galactrix." Puzzle Quest is a beautifully addictive piece of software and I await Galactrix's release later this year with bated breath. If you don't have Puzzle Quest in your library yet, now's a great time; you can find it for as low as $19.99 new.

Animal Crossing's Wishy the Star

Okay, so for all you Animal Crossing Wild World fans.
I've run into a number of people who don't know about Wishy the Star.
Talk about Make a Wish Foundation. This plan beats it hands down. This is a great way to get free presents. I don't know the time frame but in my experience approxiametly 12:30am- 1:30am-ish. Last day this happened was Friday in the A.M. There's a curious sound while a star streaks across the sky. That little freak is Wishy. This all happens pretty damn fast. When you do notice this, with your stylus tap your character. I always poke around his forehead. You have to do this before the star disappears. You know you have accomplished making-a-wish if you see your character bow his/her head and fold his hands together, almost like praying.
Then, the next time mail comes, you'll have received a letter packed with a present from Wishy....

"To the wisher, Rev,
I heard a small voice call
to me one lonely night. It
made me happy...so I will
grant your wish! *
From Wishy the Star"

SO yeah, if you want to get free presents and make a star happy, try this. I usually see the star streak at least 4 times at a few minutes intervals. I've received presents such as Dracaenas, fine painting, and a few other things.
Try it and have fun.
Peace,
Vanilla

C64 games coming to Wii's Virtual Console

Just when you think all of your nostalgic fantasies have all been fulfilled, along comes Nintendo with a little extra joy for your retro heart. That "little extra" in this case happens to be Commodore 64 games for your Wii. Wow! I peed in my pants a little. Four player M.U.L.E?

Unexpected Things

"What if, on a crowded street, you look up and see something appear that should not, given what we know, be there. You either shake your head and dismiss it, or you accept that there is much more to the world than we think. Perhaps it really is a doorway to another place. If you choose to go inside you may find many unexpected things." S. Miyamoto

Use your Wii as a Media Center

You can finally ditch that X-Box for good because with Orb you can use your Wii as a media center. I mean if you're into that sort of thing. Personally, I use my gaming console for gaming.
